Iswar Chandra Nayak
After being felicitated with the National Teacher Award by His Excellency the President on this Thursday 05/09/2022, Iswar chandra Nayak has not only gained recognition as a renowned teacher in the country, but also in the contemporary Odia literature, he is well-known as a novelist, fiction writer, essayist and columnist and for his books on contemporary socal issues in English language. He is well known nationally and internationally for his books on social issues or curriculum-based books on traditional knowledge, science and engineering education at the international level.
He was born on May 15, 1972 as the eldest son of father V. Sadanand Nayak and mother Savitri Nayak in village Bangurusha Patna under Balanga police station, Nimapada Block, Puri district. He is a post graduate in Engineering and Education. He has also been awarded by the state government and honoured by many prestigious institutions in the state.
PAAPA, GHRUNA and PRAHELIKA are three Odia novels out of a total of eighteen books he has written so far. The book "DAHAJATRA" is a contemporary volume. His English book "Enjoy your old age" has gained a lot of readership. Two textile engineering curriculum based books "Construction of woven textile designs" and "Designing of Jacquard woven textiles of panipat, India" and a book based on Indian traditional knowledge "Weaving technique of a traditional door screen of India" have been published internationally. . In translation literature, the ODIA translation of the English book "Effective parenting" written by writer Ramendra Kumar and the English translation of the self-written novel "The sin" also bear his signature. Two books published at the national level "A practical book to usage of jacquard in textile designing" and "Weaves in textile" are his unique achievements.
The book "Weaves in textile" has been recognized as a reference book for students in Indian Institute of Handloom Technology institutions in India.
Along with all this, Tricks to solve numerical problems in Chemistry Vol-I and II in Basic Science, written by him, has been well received by the children. His recently published book on school education, "ALIARU A AA", has been recognized as a National Text Book after NCERT, New Delhi recognised to put the issues and concerns described in the book to put before the Text Book Development Committee of it.
In the world of poetry, the poetry book "Kalia Saant" is his first book of poetry creation, each verse of which is based on the truth of life and is popular with the PAALA singers of Odisha.
In his latest book titled "Rangani" in English language, he has gone on to bring the customs, traditions and art of his caste to the attention of the world.
As a columnist, He is very popular in Odisha. More than hundreds of editorial articles based on contemporary issues and philosophy of life have been published in almost all famous newspaper of the state. Along with that, many weekly newspapers and magazines of Odisha have published many articles and short stories of him.
As a science writer, many of his science articles have been broadcasted by the All India Radio, Cuttack and Puri Centre. As a public speaker, he has appeared on many TV shows. Along with his interviews being aired on the channel, he has participated as the main speaker, chief guest and guest of honor in the annual functions of many educational institutions.
He is highly appreciated today for his remarkable contribution not only in writing but also in the field of social service. He has set up a "Student knowledge center-cum-Library" in his native village with educated young boys and girls of the village in which free computer education to children studying in the 5th grade and above of surrounding villages are being provided.
